Yes. DFS is built for families in the diaspora. You can join online, pay digitally, and manage everything remotely while your family is covered in Zimbabwe.

Yes. Cover for death from natural causes starts after a 90-day waiting period from your first premium. Accidental death is covered from the day your cover starts.

The main member (the person taking out the policy), their spouse or partner, and their children. The main member does not have to live in Zimbabwe — many families cover relatives back home from abroad.

The main member and any adult on the policy must be between 18 and 70 when they join. Children can be covered until they turn 20.

Not on the current packages, which cover you, your spouse or partner and your children. If you want to protect parents or other relatives, speak to a Funeral Care Consultant about a separate policy for them.

Premiums are paid digitally. Supported payment methods are configured for your country and shown at checkout and in your customer portal.

Yes. This is one of the core reasons DFS exists.

You have a 30-day grace period to catch up, and your cover continues during that time. If the premium is still unpaid after 30 days, the policy lapses. To reinstate it you pay the outstanding arrears, and a new waiting period applies.

Yes. Receipts and statements are available in your customer portal and sent to you.

Yes. You can request changes through your customer portal or your Funeral Care Consultant. Changes are reviewed before they take effect.

Up to six people in total: two adults (you and your spouse or partner) and up to four children.

Your policy number, a copy of the deceased’s ID, and the death certificate or burial order. If some documents take time to obtain, contact us anyway — we will start the arrangements and tell you exactly what is outstanding.

Most funerals take place within a few days of the family contacting us. The exact timing depends on the family’s wishes, the documents, the burial location and any relatives travelling home. We agree the schedule with you and keep you updated at every step.

You receive SMS and digital updates throughout — from policy confirmation to funeral scheduling and service confirmations. You can also add livestreaming so you can be present at the service.

Yes. Our team coordinates the service on the ground while you remain informed and involved from wherever you are.

DFS is opening to the diaspora in stages. Tell us where you live during the application and we will confirm availability.

Optional services you can add to any package — from photography and livestreaming to custom caskets, catering, travel packs and more. Start with your package, then make it yours.

It depends on the service. Some adjust your monthly premium, some are one-time funeral fees, some are priced per person or per item, and bespoke items are quoted individually. The price treatment is shown on every service.

You can add many services when you join and others at the time of the funeral. Your Funeral Care Consultant can help either way.

For bespoke items we scope the request with you, then prepare a written quotation before anything is confirmed.

The contents are configurable and we finalise them with you. They are designed around travelling home for a funeral — essentials, personal care, and funeral-related items.

Travel and attendance assistance is available as a service — logistics guidance and on-the-ground support.

Our team sets up an on-site crew and connectivity and provides a private link for family to watch live. A recording is provided afterwards. Connectivity can vary by location and we will tell you if there is any risk.

Yes. The link is private and shared only with the people the family chooses.

Yes — confidential online grief support sessions, available to multiple family members including those abroad. This is general grief support and is distinct from clinical or medical care; we will refer you on where that is needed.

Yes. Post-funeral support includes follow-up check-ins and practical guidance in the weeks afterwards.

Yes, guided will-preparation assistance is included with every DFS policy. It assists with will preparation and does not replace independent legal advice where that is required.

A will is valid in Zimbabwe when it is in writing, signed by you, and signed by two witnesses who are present at the same time and who do not benefit from the will. We guide you through each of these steps. For complicated estates, such as property in more than one country or business interests, we recommend independent legal advice as well.

Yes. Contact us or your Funeral Care Consultant to cancel. Before anything changes, we explain what cancelling means for your cover and for any family members on the policy.

Yes. Speak to your Funeral Care Consultant or request it through your customer portal. We will show you the new premium first. When you upgrade, the extra cover may carry its own waiting period, and we confirm this before the change takes effect.
